We began this morning with a prayer animated by the Sisters from the Holy Land and from Hungary. They helped us to meditate on the meeting of Mary with Elizabeth and invited us to announce the light of our Savior. Thus we began our spiritual preparation to leave the Chapter room and return to our apostolates and communities with renewed strength, fruit of the rich experiences we had here.
Afterwards we continued in plenary session, to analyze, discuss and approve the proposals to the Chapter for the next six years.
Two subjects received prolonged attention: the Declaration and Priorities of the XIX General Chapter, which will be published soon after the translations are ready, and collaboration with the Salvatorian Family. Three aspects of the latter were approved: Collaboration for the development of our common identity through the Salvatorian Family Charter and formation and mission projects; the continuity of the International Joint Commission on the Charism that is formed by members from all three branches; and holding the XX General Chapter of our Congregation, the Chapter of the Society of the Divine Savior and the International Assembly of Lay Salvatorians simultaneously. This will permit us to reflect and make decisions that are of common interest all the Salvatorian Family.
At the end of this day, with great joy, we concluded with the Eucharist, celebrated by Fr. Bronislaw Jakubiec and animated by the Sisters from Poland.
