 This morning, the first Sunday of Advent, we met in the Chapter Room for the closing session.
The Sisters from the Congo led the Morning Prayer and reminded us of the love that is a flame to keep us warm and with which we can now return to our missions.
Afterwards, Sr. Therezinha Rasera, speaking for the Generalate, thanked all the Sisters, our visitors and, above all, the persons who worked for the Chapter, within the sessions and behind the scenes. All these people were important and without them we could not have arrived so successfully at close of this important event of our Congregation.
Traditionally, the eldest member of the Chapter always makes the motion to close the Chapter. So, as the eldest chapter member, Sr. Irmtraud Forster made the request and Sr. Therezinha officially closed the XIX General Chapter.
With great joy, we concluded with a Eucharistic Celebration, presided by Fr. Andrew Urbanski, General Superior of the Salvatorian Society, with the presence of other Salvatorian brothers.
Now, at the end of our Chapter, we say farewell to one another, because within the next few days each one will return to her country, her community and to the people in the midst of which we live our Salvatorian mission. We carry in our hearts an intense learning of solidarity, participation, cultural diversity, dialogue and, above all, the certainty that the Holy Spirit is among us, guiding us at every moment.
The final product of all the richness of these experiences is the commitment we have made for the next six years, as expressed in the
Declaration of the XIX General Chapter of the Salvatorian
Sisters.
