Yesterday, November 12, was a pleasant Sunday of rest, though the heavy rain that fell over Rome also dampened some of us who went out walking.

This morning we welcomed our two Congolese sisters who were finally received their visas, and some special guests to our Chapter who, as Salvatorians, shared with us specific and rich experiences:
- Mrs. Carla Altieri, Lay Salvatorian from Italy, spoke of her Salvatorian Vocation and her experiences of solidarity with the poor, the gypsies and the sick in Rome. She also shared what her experience of mission has meant to her, both in Albania and in Africa where, together with her husband Franco, she worked among the children suffering from AIDS. Even after the passing of Franco, she has continued going to Albania with the Fathers, Sisters and lay Salvatorians to develop projects of solidarity with the poor of that country.
- Fr. Michal Piela, Salvatorian from Poland, Postulator for the Beatification of Fr. Jordan, spoke of how Fr. Jordan and Blessed Mary of the Apostles lived solidarity. Though they had different personalities, social origins, cultures, ages and levels of education, these two people found themselves united in the same desire and ideal: to be holy and to be apostolic. He cited some events and aspects of the lives of our founders that witness to us of the intense collaboration and solidarity that are thus found in the very beginnings of our Salvatorian history.
- Sr. Lilly Kurian, Salvatorian from India, Unit Coordinator, delved into the theme of Hope as found in the Bible and in the teachings of Fr. Jordan and Mother Mary of the Apostles. She also shared her own personal experience of hope in her Salvatorian life and mission.
- Fr. Stephan Horn, Salvatorian from Germany, Vice-Postulator for the cause of Fr. Jordan, shared his reflections on solidarity, hope and life in our historical roots, especially in the complementarity and collaboration between Fr. Jordan and Mother Mary of the Apostles.

Between talks we had silent time for meditation and for the presentation of the Logos from the Units of Belgium, Brazil/Santa Catarina, Austria, England, Colombia and the Holy Land.
Some other Salvatorians were also with us today: Fr. Andrew Urbanski, General Superior, Fr. Paul Portland, and Fr. Bronislaw Jakubiec. This enriching day of reflections and images of life, hope, solidarity and the Salvatorian Charism ended with a Eucharistic Celebration that was presided by Marist Fr. Jacques Parent.
