We began this new day meditating on the Logos from the Salvatorian Units of India, Hungary and Sri Lanka.
Afterwards, the group divided into three Mini-Plenary Sessions: that of Solidarity, of Hope and of Life, in different rooms in Villa Maria and the Mother House. The Sisters had previously signed up to participate in the group of their choice. Each sister had the opportunity to share concrete experiences of solidarity, hope or life in her life-journey as a Salvatorian woman.
This activity took the larger part of the day and was a very rich and prayerful experience, because through each sharing we were able to enter into communion with persons from different parts of the world in their numerous situations. This experience of sharing nourished in us the certainty that solidarity, hope and life are intrinsic to us, and to the people, and have a potential for a transforming strength. We need to preserve this strength in order to generate life, liberation, unity, justice and peace.
At the end of the afternoon, in the chapter room, the Sisters from the Mini-Plenary Sessions shared, in words and symbolic gestures, the significance of the day’s experiences. The Sisters from Italy and Malaysia also shared their Logos during this last session.
Toward the end of the session, we received news from the English Region that S. Illidia Haberbosch had died at about 4.00 p.m. S. Illidia was 103 years old!
We concluded the day with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Bishop Oneres Marchiori, from the diocese of Lages, Santa Catarina, Brazil. He is passing through Rome and gifted us with his visit.
