When we entered the chapter room this morning, the Sisters from Santa Catarina/ Brazil were already waiting for us the morning prayer. Just as the poor sleep on the streets, they were lying under sheets of newspaper, symbolizing all the forms of poverty that exist in the world. The theme of our prayer was based on the Biblical text (Exodus 3:7-10), in which God hears the cry of his people and comes down to free them. He calls us Salvatorians to go out to those who cry out for life and hope, just like He called Abraham.
Fr. Dennis, our Facilitator, gave us an orientation for our work this day, which was dedicated to discussions in small groups, in order to integrate what we have learned from the contents of the Logos, the talks that were given and the sharing in the Mini-Plenary sessions.
There was a free session for us to rest during the middle of the day, and for the translators to work with the results of the group work. At the end of the afternoon, the groups shared their reflections in the general assembly and then Sr. Therezinha Rasera presented graphs and explanations of the demographic statistics of the Congregation, comparing our reality at the last General Chapter and now. We ended the day with Mass presided by Fr. Gino Mattia, SDS, Provincial Superior of Italy.
