After yesterday’s re-election of Sr. Therezinha Rasera, we had a solemn Eucharistic Celebration of thanksgiving followed by a festive lunch. This morning, God sent abundant rain to fall on Rome. Even so, all the Sisters, as well as thousands of pilgrims visiting Rome, went to St. Peter’s Square for the Audience with Pope Benedict XVI. After the prayers and Papal Blessing, we returned immediately, for the temperature was dropping dramatically.
We went back to plenary session in the afternoon for a brief discussion on the style of composition of our Chapter’s Declaration and Priorities for Mission. We will approve these texts within the next few days.
Afterwards, we divided into ten different commissions to study and formulate proposals for later voting, when the Chapter will make decisions to be embraced by all in our Congregation. The proposals include subjects such as administration, our Rule of Life, mission, collaboration, and others.
We ended the day with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Stefan Horn, SDS.
