International Meeting of the three Leadership Teams
F. Jordan’s vision that laity and religious, men and women, work together is more and more coming true, in order to collaborate and announce God’s goodness and kindness to humankind as one UNIQUE Community.
As in many countries, common planning among the Leadership groups of the Salvatorian Fathers, Sisters and Lay has proved to be a fruitful source of our Salvatorian ministry. On the international level it is already a tradition, that the Generalate of the Salvatorian Fathers/Brothers, the Generalate of the Salvatorian Sisters, as well as the General Committee of the Lay Salvatorians (ICDS) meet to share and plan together.
Our latest meeting was held on October 9-10, 2009, in the conference room of Villa Maria in Rome, where 16 Brothers and Sisters of the Salvatorian Family from several Continents met to share their experiences and decide on common agenda issues.
At the beginning of our gathering, each of the three branches presented an update of the most important events, which took place since the previous meeting, so that we were able to participate in the life and growth of the Salvatorian Family. Agenda themes included the “International Joint Charism Commission”, the forthcoming international Salvatorian initiative for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC), the Charter of the Salvatorian Family, as well as the creation of the ICDS Statutes.
The joy of being together, as well as the energy and dynamics that this generated, are continuing to give us new courage and hope to walk along our path. We are growing in our common effort to develop our Salvatorian future together. May all this help to announce the Savior Jesus Christ to the people, above all to those who are suffering and are excluded from the fullness of life.
